To be Returned: Underrepresented People in Picture Frames
This piece is consists of ten picture frames purchased at Wal-Mart in Chico, California. These will be returned for full a cash refund and restocked in the frame section of the store. The frames have been returned and repurchased where the cashiers are oblivious to their content. In this, Wal-Mart becomes an art space where the audiences are shoppers and workers. These framed people are simply underrepresented in the language of Wal-Mart’s low prices. The art that discusses the scene in which it is staged is primary interest in my practice.
