Visual Politics: Art & The American Experience - National Juried Show. Prospectus/Entry available online. Deadline: August 29th.

The Santa Cruz Art League is a community based organization, which has been around for 89 years.

The Santa Cruz Art League is planning a political art exhibit, called: “Visual Politics: Art and the American Experience.” The juror, will be Peter Selz, Professor Emeritus of Art History at UC Berkeley, founding Director of the Berkeley Art Museum, Pacific Film Archive and the Berkeley Center for the Arts, author of many important art books, including his current “Art of Engagement: Visual Politics in California and Beyond.”

The exhibit will run though October 25 through November 23, with the reception on November 1, from 3 to 5 pm.

There will be an open call for entry to all artists who are interested to "submit artwork that addresses important social and political issues in this election year" with a prospect available here.
Deadline for slides is August 29th.
